The World in London is the largest project conceived and undertaken by The Photographers' Gallery with the aim of celebrating the cultural diversity of London. 204 photographers were commissioned over three years, each tasked with finding and portraying an individual or people born in one of the 204 Olympic nations, that now call London their home. The resulting body of work would be exhibited in multiple locations across London during the 2012 Olympic Games.
The World in London was generously supported by the
Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Arts Council England.
